The Undisputed Zombies of Gaming Industry: Top VR Games of 2016

Posted on Sep 13, 2016 by in Gaming | 0 comments

All right! The current scenario of the gaming industry is not less than a scene straight out of a war movie. There are zombies everywhere walking around to taste the blood of human race, which is on the verge of extinction due to some clichéd virus infection. The manufacturers are churning out imagination-defying games every other day with some out of the world plots. And the most surprising part is that gamers are buying them.

If we go by the numbers of the total profit earned, I am sure the day is not too far when even Tom Cruise starrer movies will face some iron-knuckle competition from some newly released games. That is very true. I mean every time it is about some game launch, I feel like I am right on the field of a war.

The virtual reality has taken the frenzy a bit further by giving us all the lifelike gaming experience.

The Undisputed Zombies of Gaming Industry: Top VR Games of 2016

The scene is going to get more intense in the few months to come because the sharks of the industry have already announced other installments of their hit VR games. While we can’t just wait to see the frenzy in the offing, we took a breather and check out some of the best VR games of 2016. Here we go:

So the incredible Minecraft Virtual Reality is finally a reality. The people are all in awe of the game that has for so many years entertained the gaming buffs from around the world. The VR Minecraft has been upgraded for both Oculus Rift and Samsung Gears.

However, I personally found the experience way too awesome on Oculus Rift without a doubt whatsoever. So the frenzy has just begun for the gaming zombies now. It is time to go right into the game, fight the enemies like never before, build, and solve the mystery in the world of gaming itself. The Minecraft VR blends all the fun together to help you do what you love to do actually. The only difference is that you are now going to do it all from a very new perspective.

I put on my VR headset on was just literally shaking at times when I was fighting the mob. Trust me! It felt so real that at time I shouted my guts out. Fighting with those monsters in the game made me feel like I am a vampire hunter Blade. But yes, I must mention that the gaming experience is totally a different one from the ones we have explored already in the past. Its 3 Audio was amazing especially when I was creeping into terrifying caves. I was literally panting like I was doing it on my own. The sound of my legs dragging my body into the caves was just amazing.

Minecraft for Oculus Rift comes absolutely free as in update for Windows 10 edition. That means you have the old monster with a different fighting skills. It is gonna be even more rocking now. Minecraft for Gear VR comes with all the features of Pocket Edition. It’s got the same price.

The dark night in the Gotham city rises again in Arkham VR

Arkham VR

So who is not a die-hard Batman fan? Well, my love for this incredibly hot and mysterious superhero dates back to my childhood. The bats would swarm over the sky when the hero would ride his sexy bike on the streets of Gotham, normally to kill enemies of the city.

Right when the Batman movie series was reeling under idiotic movie plots, Christopher Nolan took up the burden on his shoulders and gave a fresh plot to the superhero to break.

Batman movies are probably the most successful and intelligent superhero movies of all time. The success of the big curtain superhero made all the gaming sharks drooling over the idea of cashing in on its gaming version. Consequently, the Batman is the most loved superhero on the gaming platform as well. And taking it to Arkham VR was the last best thing on the planet, its makers could have possibly thought of.

The game is slated for October release. So yes, everything that I say is just what I believe. First of all, let me just spill some beans here. Arkham VR is a new story altogether. This is not an installment to one of those popular Batman series on the gaming platform. I know that is going to disappoint a few of you there but change is the ladder to development. That is what I believe in by the reputation of its makers in the industry.

The makers claim that the game is a notch higher than those you already experience in the past. A clichéd line. You can go ahead for their next versions. The game allows you to be Batman. Wow. I mean the Batman. Yes. You got it right. You are the Batman in the story. So are you doing all the stuff in the plot—whether it is riding the iconic bike of the superhero or wearing the classic black Batman suit.

In the story, you as a Batman have an opportunity to explore the intriguing Wayne Manor through your own eyes. The bat caves are waiting for you in the game. I mean wearing the Bat suit is the best value of the money I will invest in. Just kidding!

But as heard from the makers of the Arkham VR, the game does not really look like an action drama as most previous games have been. It sounds more of a mystery breaking plot. But I am sure the game will not try to lose anything big time on its psychological thriller quotient. Batman and dark psycho-thriller go well just like cheese with Pizza. Well, anything goes well with cheese in this world.
Touted as one of the best VR games of 2016, the die-hard Gerard Butlers of the gaming world are waiting with bated breaths for Arkham VR.

The zombie mayhem in the house of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Biohazard

As if the same sex love stories were not enough, there are wolves, vampires, ghosts, and even zombies making it out with their partners in the 21st century. We are all somehow living in Zombie mania now.

I don’t remember when the term zombie was first coined but they are all parts of our life now. There are guys who are really obsessed with Zombie movies. I mean despite being so slow they are threat to human race. I don’t know how? But yes, people are crazy about their movies. The Zombies thrillers are all rage.

Cashing in on this rage are the makers of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game was inspired by the successful franchise of Resident Evil movies that starred hot Milla Jovovich.

The makers are all set to take the zombie mania to a different level with their sense of gaming and horror. One of the best parts of this game is that the story will be told in the first person. I mean it is going to be happening to you otherwise what’s the fun of a VR game, right?

Having told that this is going to be a game in the first person, the gamer is going to face the entire wrath. It is time for you to go explore the dark and dilapidated laboratories. To up the thrilling quotient in the game, the makers have now added a dash of more horror in the game. Horror? Were not they already so horrible? There was seriously no scope for making it even more horrible according to me. I am seriously very curious to experience this gaming. Did I forget to tell you that I am myself a great zombie fan. I watched the Resident Evil parts several time and Milla Jovovich is the hottest zombie hunter on the planet. I am not sure who did I watch these parts for—Milla or the zombie?

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard somewhat obviously looks like a virus movie. Hollywood has so much stuff on virus that there is no way for you to miss where they are heading to in the future. Slated for a release at the end of this year, Biohazard packs in every feature to make it the boss of the gaming industry right now. It is PSVR compatible. What does that mean?

PSVR compatibility will allow you to play the entire game on the virtual reality platform. But that’s just not realistic at all. Who would on earth try to mess with horrible zombies for so long? As far as I am concerned, I will have my heart failed if I play for such long.
The story of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard starts from where the story of Resident Evil 6 ends. The story will probably start from the same old derelict plantation mansion. The main of the gamer is to survive.
You can find everything about this game on its official website. It is available on Playstation VR.

Shoot’em Up with FarPoint

FarPoint

This is one of best VR games on the pipeline in the year 2016 for those who love shooting. I don’t why but people just love everything about games that involve shooting enemies. You can take example of Max Payne that was later turned into a full-fledged Hollywood movie. The top stars were part of the project. The movie did well on the box office too. The game was a huge craze of its time. It was one of the first of its kind of game that gave importance to a cool story line.

The fund of gaming mixed with the thrill of Hollywood like story line did wonders.

FarPoint is one of the most anticipated VR games of 2016. It is slated for the release in the end of this year. The plot of the game revolves around a planet somewhere in the space. The gamer is required to defend himself from all types of creatures on the planet after his or her blood. Survival and exploring of ways to get back to earth are the main targets of the game. And just like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, FarPoint is also PSVR compatible. That means you can play the entire game in virtual reality without any interruption whatsoever. The fun of playing a game like FarPoint in VR is that it ups the thrill quotient. You got a gun in your hands but do not know where the enemy will attack you from. That is the best of FarPoint. You blink and you die. You are required to be extra cautious while playing FarPoint otherwise, you know, how it feels to get shot when you have those VR headsets on.

I literally shouted my guts out while playing a few times before while watching a 3D movie in the theater. The bullet hit me in the eye. And I am sure there were a lot of other people who would have shrugged on that scene. But that is actually the fun. And FarPoint is serving you the same fun with all the modern innovation.

The best feature of FarPoint for which gamers are waiting is its PSVR Aim controller. This accessory has been designed to take your experience a notch higher. First of all you feel like you are carrying an original gun in your hands. And secondly, you get to aim better with this accessory. The idea of holding a gun in your hands while playing a VR shooting game in itself is out of the world. Trust me. It is not like shooting birds flying in the air on some old video games. It is like roaming around in the zombie land with a powerful gun like that of one that Milla Jovovich carried in Resident Evil. You get to kill your enemies like you are in a real war. You have to think fast and out of the box to win this game.

Why so Serious Sammy with Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope

serious sam

All right! So those who have been really following this game know what it is really about. This game is also cashing in on the frenzy of guns and explosions. It reminds me of Shoot’em Up where the gun wielding Clive Owen is so innovatively killing all his enemies without any difficulty.

In the same vein, Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is outrageously good and its VR version is going to take the thrilling quotient of the game slightly up than before. Like what I had told you about FarPoint, this game is also a rage amongst people of a certain taste. By certain taste, I mean the liking for shooting enemies around. So on VR the experience of the game called Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope is going to be super thrilling undoubtedly.

Do not just go by the title of the game, it is not really that serious as it sounds. The game is pretty much fun to play and explore. The story revolves around the hero who is called Serious Sam. I don’t why he is called that way. May be he is just serious or the makers decided to introduce a quirky hero. The hero of the game is probably as serious Clive Owen and he has been given the responsibility to save the mother earth.

The game is all about killing, bombing, stabbing, exploring, and saving the earth from the monsters hell bent on to rule the earth. Why are all aliens, zombies, wolverines, vampires, and apes of other planets are always trying to rule on the planet. I think the time has come to give these plots a break a now. Enemies of earth are too much on the block, makers of gaming industry should find better plots before gamers are too tired of them.

One of the best features of this game is the abundance of weapons for our hero. From some gorgeous hand-held guns to some Terminator like huge weaponries, the very thought of picking up a gun of your choice is so exhilarating in itself. There are hordes of guns pick up the one that you like. Guys have always this fascination for guns. I don’t know why. When I was a kid I would make it a point to buy every new toy gun in the market. This has not changed even now. We are still playing with guns and the thrill has gone a notch-up higher. That is because we are grownups.

Not just guns, there are loads of enemies too. They just do not die. You are likely to like it for the fun of killing with more innovatively than those creatures on Wrong Turn movies. The on VR will be the next hot thing in the gaming industry. However, the environment is static that is a little boring considering so many modern games on the block. There is seriously no need for controllers if it is going to be static all the way.

The Nuclear bomb is about to go with the Fallout 4 in VR

Fallout 4 in VR

It looks like as if all the games are going to surprise us all in the year of 2016. They are loaded with some interesting features and have also adopted the latest technology to get its fans drugged with the frenzy. As if just games were not enough, the makers of a variety of games in the world are now serving the poison in the VR platter. Damn! It is like eating a pizza with extra cheese for free. I can’t just resist it at all.

So after wooing the world with its creativity and story line, the incredible Fall Out game is back once again with its fourth installment albeit with a slight change—and this is for better of course. No doubt at all. Already a hit amongst gamers from around the globe, Fallout 4 is the next blockbuster in road this year with its most anticipated VR version.

The announcement came early this year during an event by the makers and since the speculations and rumors around the game in the industry have not stopped. It is growing with each passing day. The game will be available on the SteamVR HTC Vive. So that was just told by the makers that it will be on HTC Vive. No other beans have been spilled so far that has left the gamers disappointed and the gaming industry frustrated with a variety of rumors doing the rounds. One of the questions that has been giving haunted nights to its gamers is whether the Fallout 4 will have Vive controllers or not? What will be the possible way to traverse the map? All these questions have become more difficult than breaking the Da Vinci Codes for the die-hard gaming fans.

According to a few good reviews by experts of the gaming industry, I believe that the gamers in Fallout 4 can use their two hands. I mean if they are reading the map on their right hand, then they can hold the gun with their left and shoot if necessary. This is good actually. It gives you a real feeling like you are holding a gun in reality. So just switch your hands whenever you want to.
There is another change. There is this teleport for movement in the game. No more touch trackpads of Vive controllers. Teleport is not immersive. But the good thing is that there is no motion sickness due to teleport at all.

One of the best features of this game could be its lifelike pictures that would make you want to touch everything you see out there in the game. With those VR headsets on, it will feel like you have somehow been transported to a different planet altogether.
Well, the year 2016 is filled with loads of surprises for the gaming buffs. Keep reading this section as we will be back with more such VR games sweeping of men from their feet.
