Design:

The design of the K5 Note is one major upgrade from K4 Note, it is more stylish and had an attractive metal body, the Gold and Silver colours and a fantastic look for the mobile. Graphite Grey colour addition also look eye-catching. Placement of headphone jack, charging slot, sim slots, volume and power buttons is pretty standard with headphone and charging at top and bottom of the mobile and sim slots and power buttons at left and right of the device. The fingerprint scanner is present at the back of the device for easy unlocking. Overall the design and colour selections for the device are the best feature.

Display:

Display of the cell phone is as usual a 5.5-inch screen similar to its predecessors; it had a 1080p resolution with 401 ppm colour density which is a good amount but seems a battery drainer. K5 Note lacks Corning Gorilla Glass which is a drawback for the mobile. It had got standard display features without any notable ones to talk.

Camera:

Lenovo K5 Note mobile had got a 13 MP rear camera with dual flash and front camera with 8MP. It had a new feature PDAF with full form as Phase Detection Auto Focus which detects objects incredibly fast and starts focusing quickly. It had typical features like Geo-Tagging, Touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and Full HD recording at 1080p. The front camera is pretty good for selfies and video calls with 77 degrees wide angle to cover more area.

Software:

Lenovo K5 Note comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and having Lenovo Vibe UI. The handset comes with many pre-installed apps like Share It and SynciT which are Lenovo’s apps, and third-party apps include Flipkart, Myntra, Truecaller, WeChat and many other Google apps. Lenovo is trying hard to get hold of the future VR market with TheatreMax technology for VR headsets like ANT VR to watch videos, movies, 360-videos and play games and also released some accessories for VR headset.

Performance:

Lenovo had released two variants of K5 Note with 3GB and 4GB RAM; this helps to load more apps at a time without any glitches while operating. It had an Octa-core 64-bit Mediatek processor with 1.8 GHz speed which provides a pretty good performance for the mobile and Mali GPU for high-end gaming. K5 Note had an internal storage of 32 GB, and external storage is expandable up to 128 GB. The device response is very fast and can support high multi-tasking.

K5 Note had Dolby Atoms sound system which is an impressive feature that provides rich sound quality while listening to music or calls. It had the speakers present at the back of the mobile.

Connectivity/Battery:

The mobile had dual Nano sim support with 4G VoLTE for both the sim cards, VoLTE helps to call using the internet which helps to transfer your voice smoothly similar to normal calls. This will be a good option if you are willing to take Reliance Jio sim once it released as Reliance uses VoLTE for its calls. It had standard Wi-Fi, latest Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS support.

K5 Note had a good battery capacity of 3500 mAh non-removable battery which gives up to 34 hrs of talk time and 543 hours of standby which is a good overall update from K4 Note. When Android Marshmallow is installed, battery consumption will decrease as it uses less energy to operate than Android Lollipop.

Pricing/Availability:

Lenovo K5 Note 3 GB version priced at 12,000 rupees and 4 GB version priced at 13,500 rupees, 1500 rupees for 1 GB of RAM seems a bit high but overall had it’s reasonable. With all the high-end features and fantastic design, K5 Note is an excellent mobile to buy for the price. Both the cell phones can only purchase from Flipkart.

Conclusion:

Lenovo K5 Note is a great mobile to buy in its category of mobiles with many rich features like fingerprint sensor, high RAM and processor, camera, good battery pack. The most attractive feature of the mobile is its stylish design with the curved metal body and vibrant looking colours which itself make anyone want to buy it.
